L’Apple TVa
is the subject of adismantling always completeand superbly
photographed by the team ofiFixitwho has already exposed to us the
insides of iPhones especially in the past. This is the opportunity to see
what the Apple TV contains and shares with other products
d’Apple, in particular iPhones and other iPads:
- The Apple TV works with aA4 processorand a chip
WiFi which seem to be thesame as that used in
the iPad. This processor is also found in theiPod Touch
V4(but not in iPhone 4)
- One of the major lessons is also the presence, not communicated
officially, of a8 GB internal memory. She is
probably used to "cache" when streaming.
But a significant amount of memory like this allows us to consider
the possibility ofinstall iOS apps, whether
officially after updating its firmware(Steve
Jobs had left the door open on this subject, cf.cet
articleof BusinessWeek) or via thecommunity of
developerswho works on this subject (see at the end of the post a
Apple TV jailbreak video).
- Andemplacementformemory
additionalis available on the electronic card. Is it for
a future model or a final choice not to carry more than 8 GB?
- The Apple TV also has256 Mo of RAM, either the
same quantity as that present on theiPadcurrent.

Information from
Engagedindicates that the Apple TV, which cannot display HD movies
1080p, is nevertheless capable of playing movies in this resolution and
displays in 720p, this will therefore avoid re-encoding your media!
Finally, it seems that the jailbreak community is not hanging around with their
new toy, they have already jailbroken the Apple TV via the SHAtter solution,
