We have already spoken inmany ticketsof
the possible implementation of NFC technology in a next iPhone, whether
either the4S/5 expected for Septemberor rather
in version 6 expected in 2012 if we are to believe the latest rumors.
While Apple is starting a test phase in Apple Stores
as we mentioned
in this post, theÎle-de-France transport union
(Stif) responsible for the metro, RER, Transilien, etc. gotest a
device allowing the validation of the journey on public transport with
a smartphone equipped with NFC technologyfollowing a first attempt
conclusion which took place in Nice:
The test will take placependant 24months on two networks of
Véolia Transport in Île-de-France in Val d’Oise:R'bus et
Valmy. It should be launched atbeginning of 2012, the
time to update the title validation devices on the
bus.
Clearly, Ile-de-France users of these lines then, if all goes well,
the entire network will eventually be able to validate their transport ticket with a
smartphone compatible with NFC technology. Some
mobile underAndroidlike the latest Nexus S
Google already ships this type of electronic component.
Hoping that this system gives as good results as in Nice and
that Apple, for its part, decides to implement NFC technology in a
next version of the iPhone!
Any testers in Nice to give us their impressions?
