In a new press release published yesterday, Apple explains that it is aware of the multiple cases oftrackingrelated to the use of your AirTags. To inform about this, there is a notification sent to potential victims which alerts them if one of these accessories follows them and they do not own it.
However, depending on the apple brand, it sometimes happens thatfalse positivescome to spoil the party. For example, when you borrow a friend's keys or AirPods are forgotten on the bottom of the seat of a car. In order to remedy this, the manufacturer has therefore chosen to improve the Locate network with several new features, including the possibility of knowing precisely which device has been detected if it is headphones, in order to make a decision accordingly.

Prevention
Another change has been made to the initial configuration of theAirTag, which now displays a message informing that the product is designed to identify the location of one's personal belongings but that there is no question of doing the same with a person. Apple also adds that this practice is considered illegal in many countries.
When turned on for the first time, the developer also specifies that the AirTag can indeed be detected by victims of harassment. And in order to discourage potential offenders, a final warning explains that the police can get involved by identifying the name of the owner of the tag.However, this is not as easy as you might think..
Additional features
AirTags buyers will also be able to benefit from several additional tools, including theprecision localizationwhich will allow iPhone 11, 12 and 13 to know “how far and in what direction an unknown AirTag is within range“. A visual and audible alert has also been added: “When the AirTag automatically emits a sound to alert of its presence and the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch indicates that it is moving, an alert will be displayed on the device so that you can act accordingly“.
Finally, the tone of the tracking alarm will very soon be enhanced tohear it betterif the AirTag is well hidden.
