During its traditional end-of-year keynote, Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 9, its new flagship connected watch. The device has a more powerful processor than ever, and runs the watchOS 10 operating system unveiled at the Worldwide Developer Conference. The price for the basic model should be around 500 euros, to be personalized with the case color and bracelet of your choice.

A very versatile device
The Apple Watch Series 9 platform, watchOS 10, also offers the possibility of recordingelectrocardiogramsand count the number of steps taken during the day. Regular reminders can be configured, to move, to drink water or to stop cooking a dish. The App Store allows you to download millions of third-party services, sometimes also available from competitors.
A value proposition which, of course, recalls that of the brand newGalaxy Watch 6. Presented this time by the Korean brand Samsung, the connected watch runs Wear OS, a variation of Android. The screen, however, is circular, with a diameter of 1.5 inches and an always-on display. Count sixteen gigabytes of internal storage and two gigabytes of RAM. Apple, for its part, remains discreet on RAM figures. These are only indicated for iPad Pros and Macs.

What's new in watchOS 10
Concretely, apart from its faster chip, the Apple Watch Series 9 only bringslittle newcompared to those of the previous model. But it is the first of its kind to run natively under watchOS 10, with many new features included. For example, you can download offline maps with Apple Maps, benefit from a complete makeover of several apps or evenreceive altitude alerts.
watchOS 10 is also compatible with older versions of the Apple Watch, such as Series 7 or Series 6.
