Apple Glass: new information on connected glasses

Apple Glass is still in its infancy, according to new signs signedBloomberg. While some previously bet on a release in 2026 or 2027 (and again, these are the most recent estimates), we would not be entitled to the glasses for much longer. Difficult to see more clearly, but the calendar could be counted in years. In short, it is likely that the mount will not see the light of day before2030, but that's just our own calculation. Until then, the manufacturer would bet everything on its new mixed reality headsets, like the Apple Vision Pro and thepotential more affordable model expected in a few months.

This is not the first time that such delays have been mentioned, some of the very first rumors about Apple Glass suggesting a release as early as 2021. Those who follow the Apple firm will know that this agenda will ultimately not have been confirmed . Instead, it seems that the manufacturer has done everything to prepare the ground for the Vision Pro, which also allows you to benefit from an augmented reality interface. More precisely, it is in fact virtual reality, but the images broadcast on the screen are captured by external cameras to duplicate the user's environment, and therefore imitate AR.

What will Apple Glass be used for?

In all likelihood, future Apple Glass would appear as aeven more comfortable alternativethan mixed reality headsets. The glasses would thus be lighter and take up less space. We could therefore carry them more easily, everywhere with us. The brand would like to offer an experience identical to that of the iPhone, with all the apps that we already know like Messages, Photos or Apple TV. It is also very likely that it is visionOS which powers the new frames. The American operating system has already fitted the Apple Vision Pro since their release, and received a second major version during the last Worldwide Developer Conference.

With Apple Glass, we could alsoscan foodbut without going through a barcode, to better understand their nutritional contributions. Moreover, health would be more generally put forward and perhaps certain dedicated Apple Watch sensors will also see the light of day under the hood of the glasses. We think in particular of the heart rate monitor, which measures heartbeats and can sometimes detect potentially dangerous arrhythmias.

It's still all about the market

It's difficult to understand why Apple Glass would have fallen so far behind. But it's a safe bet that Apple first wantsvalidate market interestfor this format, before setting out to democratize the sector. It is often this way of proceeding that we recognize in Californian society. Remember, for example, wireless headphones, connected watches or even Bluetooth beacons: all these devices already existed long before Cupertino tackled them. Enough to confirm a certain attractiveness on the part of consumers, as soon as a reasonable sales scale is reached by the competition. A strategy which also seems to please investors, since they recently allowed AAPL stock to once again exceed three thousand billion dollars in capitalization on the Wall Street stock exchange.

The stock is trading at more than $207 at the time of writing, compared to $168 last April. Analysts suggest that growth will continue in the coming months, with perhaps $250 per share in sight by the end of 2024.
