As often,Applemakes a new edition of its operating system available to the general public after it has been tested internally and with a small panel of customers. At the same time asthe iPhone iterationTwo new versions of the Californian brand's flagship software are being released, equipping its tablets and multimedia boxes to make a connected TV.
iPadOS 13.3.1ettvOS 13.3.1are in fact available and mainly provide fixes to programming errors which had not been spotted during the official release of version 13.3 dating from December 2019 only. Added to these are other changes in the code, this time dedicated to security.
Compatible devices
The following tablets can be updated to iPadOS 13.3.1:
- the rangeiPadPro(12,9″, 11″, 10,5″ et 9,7″)
- the fifth, sixth and seventh generation iPads
- iPad mini 4 and 5
- the third generation iPad Air
- iPad Air 2
For theApple TV, only models released after 2011 would be compatible with version 13.3.1 of tvOS.
How to update your device?
The procedure to download iPadOS 13.3.1 is as follows (if you have not already received it):
- Open the appSettings
- ChooseGeneral
- Launch theSoftware update
To avoid doing this operation manually each time something is new, simply follow the same path then, in the menu of the same name, activate theAutomatic updates. Seeespecially here the detailsof the update, identical to that of iOS 13.3.1 for the iPhone, including the OTA (Over the Air) and via iTunes procedures explained.
Regarding tvOS, the procedure is as follows on Apple TV 4K or HD:
- AccessSettings
- Click onSystem
- OpenSoftware updates, then selectUpdate software
During each download and installation, remember to keep your tablet or Apple TV turned on and plugged in or with enough battery to spare. Finally, be aware that a restart will of course be necessary for everything to work.
