Apple will perhaps abandon this historic partner

According to new rumors, Apple and Goldman Sachs are at odds. The American bank is the official partner of the Apple firm for credits made with the Apple Card, still unavailable in France despite its arrival in the United States several years ago. But this collaboration would bethe origin of many debts.

However, for Apple, there would be no question of abandoning its connected payment method project. Quite the contrary, even. In fact, the companyTim Cookis already looking for a new partner for its titanium card. And one name has already leaked to the specialized press, but there is little chance that the European public has already heard of it.

What is Pismo?

Instead of Goldman Sachs, Apple would consider working with the company Pismo. If its name doesn't mean anything to you, know that it is a South American fintech which, like Swipe, specializes in the marketing of white label bank cards. Acquired by Visa, the service also offers Mastercard cards to its customers. However, this is precisely the technology chosen for the moment by Apple for its product.

Pismo displays staggering figures on its website, explaining that it manages no less than $208 billion in transactions each year. With this, 33 million accounts would be created via its platform over the same period. For comparison, however, remember that the Apple Card is currently reserved for the American market, which drastically limits its scope. Moreover, we still do not know whether the card will soon be launched in Europe or not – but nothing is less certain, to date.

Apple Card features

Concretely, today, the Apple Card offers functionalities similar to those offered by a traditional bank – but not only that. Thus, card users can also use it to pay in Apple Stores while benefiting from cashback on Macs, iPhones or iPads. But that's not all. In fact, expenses and income are synchronized in real time on iOS: enough to effectively monitor your budget, provided you have an internet connection, of course.

The Apple Card also gives access to a special financing plan, allowing for example to pay for your cell phone or computer in several installments. There was a similar solution on the French online Apple Store for a while, but unfortunately this has no longer been the case for a few weeks. The manufacturer has not explained why the option has disappeared.
