The Apple Watch 5 has the same performance as the old model

When Apple presented the Apple Watch Series 5 last week, the Cupertino company highlighted the new always-on screen, the compass, and the new case materials (titanium and ceramic).

Usually with each new generation of iPhone, iPad, but also Apple Watch, the new devices have increased performance, thanks to a new, more powerful processor or even an excess of RAM, but this is not the case. Apple Watch Series 5 case.

Indeed, developer Steve Troughton-Smith, known in the Apple world, discovered in the latest version of Xcode thatApple Watch Series 5 uses the same processor and graphics chip as Apple Watch Series 4. The RAM does not change either and remains at 1 GB of RAM.

According to Xcode, Apple Watch Series 5 has the same generation CPU/GPU as the Apple Watch Series 4; I guess the only changes are a gyro and 32GB of NAND? The plus side of that is that we won’t have to worry about watchOS being slower on the Series 4 than on a brand new model

As a result, the Apple Watch 5 maintains the same performance as the old model, but with mainly three new features, the always-on screen, the integrated compass and the emergency call function which works internationally.

Also note that the Apple Watch Series 5 has 32 GB of storage space, compared to 16 GB for the Apple Watch Series 4.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, because the Apple Watch Series 4 works very well and is still as smooth as ever. This also means that watchOS 6 will run perfectly and without any slowness on the Apple Watch Series 4.

We imagine that the next Apple Watch should gain in power, as the last model has not evolved in this regard.
