Mark Gurman believes the 2024 Apple Watch could detect sleep apnea and measure blood pressure, all with a new design. This would then be the first time that the Apple firm's flagship connected watch would drastically change format. It's not yet clear whether it's a circular screen, but that's probably not the case. The slabsquircleof Tim Cook's wearables is his trademark, allowing them to be recognized from afar – except perhaps in the face of the multiple copycats on the market.
The blood oximeter has already appeared on Apple Watches. Blood pressure, for its part, is one of the vital signs regularly monitored by health professionals, particularly alongside heart rate and body temperature. Two other data that the Apple Watch can also monitor, by the way.
An iconic model
Coming back to the design, if the new chassis on the way for 2024 will really make a difference, it would be to celebrate ten years of the Apple Watch range. Asl’iPhone Xin its time, the next edition would therefore mark a major evolution of the collection. The mobile, in 2017, was the first from Cupertino to abandon the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in favor of face recognition. Face ID has always been used on Apple's premium smartphones, but also on its iPads. Some even believe that Macs could be entitled to it soon.
At the same time, we also learned very recently thatthe third generation Apple Watch Ultracould use a better screen. With mini-LED technology, however, the latter risks seriously increasing the price asked to afford the high-end accessory. As a reminder, the current version already costs a whopping 899 euros in France.
Potential release date
The Apple Watch The connected watch would then be presented during a keynote with great fanfare at the Steve Jobs Theater, at the same time as the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus or even the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Nomenclatures which, however, also remain subject to doubt: the brand will only confirm the information during the conference in question.
