There is finally some news regarding the next generation of CarPlay! From the developer conferenceWWDCwhich took place in June 2022, there has been no precise information on this subject.
We learned last month from Apple that it planned to announce new models ofcars that will feature the next generation of CarPlay, and this before the end of the year. At the time of writing, Apple has still not put the subject back on the table directly.
While the announcements from the Apple firm concerning these new vehicles should be made in the following days, we are learning a little more about this today. This thanks toCarAndDriver, who received exclusive information, including two photos.
Aston Martin and Porsche will have their own systems
Apple is reported to be working closely withAston MartinetPorsche, so that they embed systems different from the basic CarPlay. The ambition behind these initiatives is to allow manufacturers to benefit from Apple's excellence in terms of software and ergonomics, while maintaining their visual identity.

As you can see in the photos above, we obviously recognize the Apple icons, but the rest of the interface looks less like Apple's usual designs. However, we do not know if all cars equipped with the next CarPlay will be able to benefit from a personalized interface, or if Apple has planned a standardized version in case it suits certain manufacturers.
Cupertino also indicates on the CarPlay web page that the new generation will be able to integrate with all the driver's screens. Apple's on-board system should also be able to offer certain basic vehicle settings, such as air conditioning or radio.
Looking forward to Apple making its announcements to learn a little more!
