It was Michael Bloomberg, the mayor, who indicated this
as noted in an article in the New York Times:
Among the thefts and other incidents counted, Apple products turned out to be
by far the most attractive (or the most “available”). Thus, on a
increase of 3,484 incidents recorded in 2012compared to the year
passed (out of a total of more than 100,000 all the same),the only flights
of Apple products are an increase of 3,890 compared to
2011.
The metro is one of the places where events are recurrent and that is the value
seller of Apple products which explains this unfortunate craze. We
indeed carries valuable objects with us now and this attracts
inevitably desires.
There is no doubt that this growth, which goes hand in hand with that of the popularity of
Apple products should be similar in other cities around the world.
