The anti Instagram and the anti BeReal?
If you want to get in touch with another Internet user, it is possible, but this will require that you follow each other. A private conversation can then begin in the hope of generating more authentic and healthy social interactions as opposed to the ambient toxicity of certain platforms.
Certainly, the concept of filter-free applications with real-time photo taking is not new. We think in particular of the French ofBeRealwho broke through last year. Daylyy, however, hopes to stand out, as Austin Anderson, co-founder and CEO, explains to our colleagues atTechCrunch:“We saw people flock to BeReal because it was authentic, but that quickly fizzled out”.
For now, however, the application is starting much more slowly than BeReal and its tens of millions of downloads. Created in 2022, it has only 47,000 users in around a hundred countries. Prudent, its founder hopes to exceed 50,000 users by the end of the year.
As for the business model to ensure the sustainability of the company, it has already been found: advertising. Daylyy thus hopes to reach a critical mass of Internet users to convince advertisers. They will also have to take an authentic photo of their products and without cheating, as users do.
