New videos tell us more about how Vision Pro works

Apple is preparing to enter the very promising (or not) market of virtual reality and augmented reality. As a reminder, in June, the firm finally lifted the veil on its Vision Pro helmet. And this brand new product will be released in 2024. In the meantime, application developers already have access to tools and documentation to develop services for the Vision Pro.

And in fact, as reported by our colleagues at 9to5Mac, Apple has just released a sixth version of the beta of the visionOS operating system, which will be used by Vision Pro. And this beta includes a series of videos that introduce users to how the headset works. For example, 9to5Mac discusses a 35-second video that explains how the user interacts with the operating system.

“Your eyes and hands help you navigate Apple Vision Pro”, says the video.“You go through the system looking, and it responds to your eyes. Simply look at an item and tap your fingers together to select it. It's like clicking on your Mac. To scroll, pinch your fingers and flick gently. You can keep your hands where they are comfortable, like on your lap.”

This is how the “Personas” will be created

Otherwise, during FaceTime calls on the Vision Pro headset, users will be represented by a sort of avatar called a Persona. And the latest visionOS beta also includes a short video that explains to the user how to generate their Persona.

“To set up your Persona, you will remove your Apple Vision Pro to capture your appearance. Take your time getting ready and make sure nothing covers your face. To start capturing, hold Apple Vision Pro at eye level. Keep your arms and shoulders relaxed, then follow the instructions”, this other video would indicate.

At the moment, we do not have a very clear idea of the catalog of third-party applications that will be available on Apple's Vision Pro headset. But a few developers have already mentioned developing applications for this new product. And among these there is the Telegram messaging service. Recently, the app's founder, Pavel Durov, did the teasingof the future Telegram application for visionOS.

An affordable version in the pipeline

It remains to be seen whether Vision Pro will attract enough developers for Apple to have a rich catalog of third-party applications. But in any case, it should be noted that, according to rumors, the firm is already working on a more affordable version of the Vision Pro.

Thismore affordable versioncould attract more users to the platform, which would encourage developers to create apps.
