Disney+: new details on the video offer that will hurt Netflix and AppleTV+

On November 12, Disney will launch its video streaming service, Disney+, in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands, with a gradual rollout to other countries starting next year. Its offer at $6.99 or €6.99 per month risks hurting the giant Netflix, as well as the future AppleTV+ service.

Disney has revealed new information about its video offering. With the $6.99 per month offer, it will be possible to have up to 4 streams in 4K simultaneously. The equivalent at Netflix to benefit from such an offer costs $15.99, twice as expensive.

On Disney+, each account can create up to 7 user profiles, which can be practical for sharing a Disney+ subscription with the whole family or with several friends. It therefore appears that Disney has reversed its desire to fight against account sharing, unless there are geographical restrictions.

Disney also announced that every week there will be new episodes for its original series, instead of releasing an entire season at once like Netflix does.

The apps will also allow you to download content to watch it offline, for example on the plane or abroad. Algorithms will recommend relevant content to users, based on their viewing habits, much like Netflix already does.

This is an offer that risks hurting Netflix and AppleTV+. According to the latest rumors, Apple's video service could start at a price of $9.99, more expensive and with a very thin catalog of content compared to Disney (and Netflix).
