Wireless headphones: AirPods would lose market share

According toCounterpoint Research, who explained a short time ago that the iPhone 11 is selling very well, Apple will sell82 million pairs of AirPods in 2020. Although the figure is increasing, this nevertheless represents “only” 35% of all devices sold worldwide, compared to almost half last year.

Just behind in the ranking, we obviously find Asian brands:Xiaomiin second place with only 10% of PDM, compared to 6% for the third which is none other than the South KoreanSamsung. The company has just revealedthe Galaxy Buds Live at the same time as its Note 20 Ultra, direct competitor to the future iPhone 12 Pro Max.

What are the alternatives?

If the AirPods (179 euros or 229 euros with their wireless charging case) and the AirPods Pro (279 euros) are too expensive for you, don't panic: there are earbud modelsBluetoothoffering similar - or even better - quality for more attractive prices at Bose, Technics, Sennheiser or Audio Technica.

As an example,THESony WF-XB700are the best option for meespecially since it has already been sold for less than a hundred euros. There we find the audio know-how of the Japanese manufacturer, and compatibility with Siri, but no active noise reduction or dedicated application.
