The arrival ofla recharge USB-Cis undoubtedly one of the main new features of the new iPhone 15 range that we discovered last week during Apple's back-to-school keynote.
We already know that it can be recharged in less than two hours at a maximum power of 27 watts, a level similar to that of the iPhone 14's Lightning. But an important difference appears with regard to the loading accessories.
An unexpected positive effect of USB-C
Indeed, as notedMacotakara, the iPhone 15 is capable of providing up to 4.5 watts to them thanks to USB-C. However, this level was only 0.3 watts at most for Lighthning, which marks a real difference.
Apple did not hesitate to point this out during its event last Tuesday. The Cupertino company therefore suggests that its customers recharge AirPods or their Apple Watch by plugging them directly into their iPhone 15 using USB-C charging. However, this is of course a backup solution, and it is better to favor the chargers provided at the time of purchase.
Remember that the new iPhone 15 and 15 plus are equipped with USB-C 2.0. The latter are capable of reaching data transfer speeds of up to 480 Mb/s, a speed similar to Lightning. The Pro and Pro Max versions benefit from USB-C 3.2 (2nd generation), which can reach 10 Gb/s. Furthermore, andcontrary to some rumors, the Apple brand does not in any way limit transfer rates.
For your part, what do you think of the arrival of USB-C on iPhone? Feel free to give your point of view in the comments.
