For a while now, rumors have been circulating about new MacBook Pros being developed. In addition to using a new chip which would be more efficient than the M1, these new computers would also benefit from new technology for the screen: the mini-LED screen.
As a reminder, the mini-LED screen is used bythe 12.9-inch iPad Prothat Apple unveiled in April. And this allows you to display better image quality as well as better energy saving.
And the good news is that it's increasingly likely that these new MacBook Pros will be released soon. Indeed, in an article published this week, the MacRumours site relays a note which would have been written by analyst Ming Chi-Kuo indicating that the mass production of the new MacBook Pros, with 14-inch mini-LED screens and 16 inches, would still be planned for this third quarter of 2021.
A presentation in October?
However, contrary to what some sites have indicated, the release of these new MacBook Pros could be scheduled for later. In his article, MacRumours analyst Kuo would have indicated that Apple could decide to present these new computers during another event, but not during the presentation of the new iPhones which should take place in September.
It would also be possible that the new MacBook Pros will not be marketed until several weeks after the presentation, due to difficulties in supplying mini-LED screens. Indeed, Apple had already done this for the iPad Pro with mini-LED screen presented in April.
Note also that rumors are circulating about Apple's next chips for computers. According to these, the new MacBook Pros would use a chip called M1X, which could be an improved version of the M1.The new generation, the M2,would only arrive next year and should equip new MacBook Airs.
But of course, since this information does not come from official sources, caution is always required.
