The next Mac Pro 2022 would include a 40-core Apple chip

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg was not stingy with revelations last night. In his latest report, he predicts some of the characteristics for several upcoming Apple computers, MacBook Pro, Mac mini and MacBook Air, as announced in our columns this morning. He also has some information up his sleeve on the next Mac Pro. According to him, the high-end computer from the Californian firmwould return next year in a new version with unprecedented power.

40 hearts, who says better?

Obviously, the Mac Pro 2022 would move to architectureApple silicon. Remember that the model currently in the range dates from 2019 and is powered by an Intel Xeon W chip that can integrate up to 28 computing cores with a maximum frequency of 4.4 GHz in Turbo Boost.

Thanks to a new Apple Mx chip, the next generation Mac Pro would reach40 working cores. For the machine, in reality, there are two new Apple silicon chips to choose from when purchasing, codenamed Jade 2C-Die and Jade 4C-Die.

The first would integrate 16 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores. For the second, count 32 high-performance cores and 8 high-efficiency cores. For the graphics part, the source announces a choice of a 64-core GPU or a 128-core GPU.

The RAM should be integrated into the processor, as with the M1 chip seen on MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini and iPad. We hope to be able to go high in RAM capacity however and not be too limited like on the MacBook Pro 13″ M1 limited to 16 GB of RAM maximum.

No more cheese graters?

Bloomberg also warns that the 2022 Mac Pro shouldchange design. Apple would have chosen to leave aside the box introduced in 2019, adored for its modular side, but criticized for its “cheese grater” style. Thus, the Californian would focus on a smaller format, with, we hope, a more inspired design...

We won't tell you about the price of the beast, which, as is often the case with the Mac Pro range, should break new records.
