More than 4.5 billion dollars paid by Apple to settle the clash with Qualcomm

This is the period when large tech companies (but not only) unveil their latest quarterly results, for the first quarter of this year.After Apple yesterday, it's the turn of the leader in modem chips for smartphones, Qualcomm.

The latter has just revealed its figures, which include interesting information concerning the recent agreement concluded with Apple. We learnthe amount paid by Apple to Qualcomm, which amounts to several billion dollars.

Qualcomm has just revealed the exact figures of the agreement recently concluded with Apple to end the dispute between the two firms. The smartphone modem chip giant received a payment of approximately$4.5 billionfrom Apple.

This payment allows the confrontation with Qualcomm to be resolved, and Apple to do business with the latter again to be able to equip its next 2020 iPhones with a 5G chip.

Intel is expected to continue supplying 4G chips for the upcoming 2019 iPhones, and starting next year, Apple is likely to switch entirely to 5G chips from Qualcomm, and probably also from Samsung.
