The latest estimates gave thedate of Tuesday September 12 as highly probable for the holding of Apple's back-to-school keynote. This evening, information on the date oflaunch of iPhone pre-orders from German operatorssupport this hypothesis.

If everything goes as in past years, it is the Friday following the back-to-school conference during which the machines are presented. In this case, thedate of Wednesday September 12only comforts itself.
Here is the history of keynote dates from past years, knowing that generally Tuesday is preferred. Except when it falls on September 11, a particularly marked day, as in 2012:
