It's been a long time since
Digitimes had not indulged in the rumor game.
Based on sources close to the manufacturing chain, the
website claims that the next iPhone could be equipped with a processor
Quad CoreARM based on Samsung Exynos 4 architecture:
As a reminder, the iPhone 4S is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at
800 MHz called A5 by Apple already present in the iPad.
With the launch of the new iPad, Apple has only offered an evolution of this
A5 processor this time called A5X. With this new chip, it is
mainly the graphics processor which has been revised.
For the launch of the iPhone 5, if Digitimes is telling the truth, and it's not
always the case, Apple should logically name this processor Quad Core A6.
Given what the competition is doing it would seem logical that Apple
also offers a quad-core processor.
All we have to do now is wait until September or October to find out.
