New iPad Pro in April followed by new iPad and iPad mini later in the year?

When Mark Gurman speaks, the tech world listens. And when he says new iPads could arrive next month, we believe him.

At least, given the Apple specialist's history, we can bet on the fact that he rarely takes risks on what he announces, which prevents him from losing bets, unlike Jon Prosser . The latter will indeed soon shave his eyebrows having bet on the date of March 23 as the day of the next Apple Keynote, before finally announcing a presentation in April.

And adding the recent information revealed by Mark Gurman, it is currently more prudent to bet on an Apple event in April. In fact, the journalist from Bloomberg a few hours ago madetwo announcements, detailed below about theiPad range at Apple.

Apple is reportedly preparing a new iPad Pro for release in April. This new generation of tablet intended for professionals should keep thesame formats and same designthan the last generation of 2020. We would therefore be entitled to an 11-inch iPad Pro and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Both would, however, include some great new features, including a new Ax processor expected to get closer to the performance of the Apple M1 Mac chip.Mini-LED screen technology would also be there, at least for the large model. It should allow it to display better contrasts and better brightness than LCD technology, currently used on all iPads, Pro and non-Pro. Otherwise, the connection port would no longer be USB-C, butThunderbolt. No change of charger required at this time, the port being the same for both technologies. But Thunderbolt can achieve higher transfer speeds than USB-C as it currently stands.

A 9th generation iPad in a few months

Because the coronavirus pandemic has pushed many people to work or study at home, Apple would like to take the opportunity to introduce a new entry-level tablet without too much delay. In any case, that’s what Mark Gurman says.

The iPad could thereforebe renewed by fall, we imagine it without changing the design too much, but with a slightly thinner format, a new chip inside and some slight improvements, in photos for example or even in autonomy we imagine it. This would be the 9th generation of iPad for Apple, the 8th having been released in September 2020.

Note that the DigiTimes newspaper supports this hypothesis from Mark Gurman on the upcoming arrival of a 9th iPad,in a recent article. It is indicated that one of Apple's subcontractors for Mini-LED technology, Epistar, would launch its production of a 12.9-inch iPad screenin the second quarter of 2021, i.e. between April and next June. The release of the product would therefore possibly take place either during the summer, unlikely in our opinion, or in the fall, which seems more plausible according to Apple's habits.

This iPad 9 could evenbe accompanied by a new iPad mini, most recently updated in 2019. The latter would then be a little less “mini” and would arrive this year with a screen a little larger than the previous generation and its 7.9-inch panel. Better would obviously also be expected in terms of computing power.

What are you most looking forward to among this new iPad Pro, iPad, iPad mini trio?
