iOS 18 is expected to be the biggest update to Apple's mobile operating system since iOS 7, mainly thanks to a design revised from top to bottom as well. For comparison, the journalist fromBloomberg Mark Gurman, however, believes that watchOS 11, which will equip connected watches from the same manufacturer, would only bring “minor” improvements to the latter.. This could in particular be explained by a focus on the completely revisited format for the Apple Watch case, the guidelines of which have hardly been modified since the debut of the range in 2015. Neither Tim Cook nor his teams have however confirmed all of this information, for the moment. These therefore need to be considered with caution, of course.
watchOS 11 could be announced during the Worldwide Developer Conference. This is an event hosted by Apple in June, usually every year. During this show to which several hundred hand-picked guests are invited, products are sometimes also announced. But the focus is more on software ads, most of the time. This is how we could discover, from this summer, the new features of the update to iPadOS 18 or that of tvOS 18 (the Apple TV operating system).
What format for the new Apple Watch?
It is quite difficult to answer this open question, for the simple reason that the manufacturer has not yet revealed anything about its plans in this area.
We can nevertheless rely on previous rumors to try to find out more on this subject. Remember:no later than 2021, rumors in the corridors suggested that the design of future Apple Watches could be inspired by that of the iPhone 4, or more recently the iPhone 12. In other words: the chassis would give pride of place to right angles and much fewer curves , thus providing a much more straightforward appearance to users.

In the end, it won't be the case. But it is true that the elegance of the Apple Watch is rather called into question today, in the face of competition which continues to innovate, where the premium range has notnever really renewed for almost ten years. The borders around the screen could be much thinner and the screen circular, but this last point may not please the manufacturer. And for good reason; the oblong panel now presents itself as its trademark, on the wearable side of the wrist. Too bad for those who wanted to remain unnoticed…
Worldwide Developer Conference date revealed
The Worldwide Developer Conference of the year 2024will be organized from June 10 to 14. The information has just been revealed by Apple, which will organize the event as usual online and in Cupertino at the same time.
