Samsung unveils the new Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra

During its traditional Unpacked event at the start of the year, Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. This is its high-end collection, which remains to be distinguished from the foldable models that are the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The release date is planned for January 24, so you will have to wait, as with Apple with the launch of the iPhone. This shows in particular that the numerous additional features boosted by artificial intelligence are particularly useful. This is for example the case of the optionAssistant Notes, which, as its name suggests, you “allows you to compile, summarize and format” your note taking.

Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy S24 costs 899 euros with 128 GB of internal storage, its basic version. Normally count on 959 euros for the 256 GB version, but this is offered at the price of the edition with half the memory, until January 30. You can therefore double your capacity, at a lower cost. For comparison,an iPhone 15is now offered in the Apple Store for 969 euros, compared to 1,119 euros for the iPhone 15 Plus. The latter has a 6.7-inch screen, compared to 6.2 inches with the Samsung Galaxy S24.

Regarding the Samsung Galaxy S24+, the entry price is set at 1,169 euros in 256 GB, for no less than 12 GB of RAM. As for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which presents itself as the most powerful of the new trio, it is also the most expensive with still 1,589 euros on the clock. But here too, a promotion is displayed during pre-orders (already open): 120 euros less on the invoice.

Some additional details on the technical sheet

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, compared to proprietary hardware (Exynos 2400) with the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy S24+. These can be delivered with 8 GB of RAM, depending on the version chosen.

For the photo part, we find a 50 megapixel lens on the back of the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy S24+, compared to 200 megapixels with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Finally, be aware that you will need to count on respective capacities of 4,000, 4,900 and 5,000 mAh for the battery of each device. Enough to get you through the day without blinking.
