The Shazam app has just been updated. Now, when users try to recognize a track, if it is classical music hosted on Apple Music Classical, then a link redirects directly to the platform to listen to more. Apple Music Classical is a new apparrivallast March, which complements the original Apple Music offering for the same paid subscription at 10.99 euros per month.
Shazam, for its part, compares Internet users' recordings with a database of millions of titles to try to identify songs and artists. The company was bought by Apple in 2018 for an officially unknown amount, but reportedly around $400 million.
How does it work?

After closing this prompt the first time, you then just have to try the experience again to discover that the Shazam menu has changed. Here is the procedure to follow to rediscover it:
- start listening to music
- launch Shazam
- when the music is recognized, touch the icon︙at the top right of the screen
- touchOpen in Classical
Price and availability
Apple Music Classical is therefore offered at10.99 euros per monthfor the packageIndividual, but it is possible to benefit from a reduced rate of 5.99 euros per month provided you can prove your student status. Otherwise, an offer of 16.99 euros per month is also offered by Apple for families, this subscription being compatible with six different iCloud accounts.
Apple Music is installed natively on iPhone, iPad and Mac, but Apple Music Classical remains to be downloaded manually for now.
