More and more PC and console hits have been joining the iOS platform in recent months, to the delight of iPhone and iPad gamers. Coming soon, a new great success of independent video games is arriving on our favorite platform, it isHyper Light Drifter. The latter has been available on the App Store for a few hours.
Hyper Light Drifter is a game released in 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Mac. Its development was supported by the community via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The latter was a great success, which allowed the Abylight studio, creator of the game, to adapt it on numerous platforms.

In Hyper Light Drifter, the player plays a Drifter, a sick hero in search of a cure. In an action-RPG mix, this new title is clearly inspired by the legendary Zelda, Secret of Mana and Diablo. It therefore uses different mechanics, all in isometric view and with old-fashioned graphics.

The game promises fast and fluid gameplay, with different worlds to discover and numerous enemies to defeat. Compatibility with MFi controllers is announced. In addition, the atmosphere seems captivating, carried by visibly careful music signed Disasterpeace, a composer specializing in the chiptune style. We owe him in particular the soundtracks ofFez,Mini Metroor evenReigns, all three excellent iOS games.

Hyper Light Drifter was critically acclaimed and highly regarded by PC and console gamers. Its arrival on iPhone and iPad was therefore eagerly awaited. Let's hope the port is up to par, in which case it could well be one of the very best games of 2019.
