Mac M4: these models you are expecting for 2025

The new Apple Silicon range is gradually expanding. Apple is shaking up its computer range with the arrival of M4 chips. The Mac mini M4 Pro already surprisessurpassing the Mac Studio M2 Ultrawith 24-core CPU, howeversold three times more expensive. The 16-inch MacBook Pro has just establisheda new performance record under Geekbench 6, for all Apple Silicon chips tested to date!

These promising results portend the best for future M4 Macs. The MacBook Air, the Mac Studio and the Mac Pro are in fact preparing to receive this new generation of processors during the year 2025.

A three-step deployment

The MacBook Air should get the ball rolling in early 2025. If its design remains unchanged, it will now offer16 Go de RAM a standard, enough to delight the complainants on this subject, and definitively put an end to the mockery of Windows users. The webcam of the best-selling laptop on the planet would move to12 megapixelsand would integrate the Center Stage and Desk View functions, already present on the latest MacBook Pro M4.

The Mac Studio should be presented by Apple between March and June, equipped with an M4 Ultra or Max chip. The Mac Pro could bring up the rear next summer with an exclusive chip called "Hidra", capable of managing up to512 GB of RAM. This configuration promises32 CPU cores and 80 GPU cores, double the current M4 Max.

Performance that redefines standards

The first tests already reveal the extent of the progress made. The M4 Max outperforms20 %the performance of the M4 Pro in multi-core computing. Graphics capabilities are also improving with a gain of40 %for the M4 Pro and25 %for the M4 Max compared to their M3 equivalents.

The Neural Engine is also evolving significantly. It now deals38 billion operations per second. Concretely, this is a major asset forfuture Apple intelligence features.
