And here is one of his works that we have not yet presented to you:Rancho Cucamonga. Rancho Cucamonga is a city in California of more than 120,000 inhabitants known for its wine, zinfandel. It was mentioned by Craig Federighi during a WWDC keynote during which the Apple executive humorously described how his marketing team was looking for inspiration to name upcoming versions of macOS:
At Apple, we spend a lot of time driving on Californian roads to find the name of the next macOS: OS X Oxnard, OS X Weed, OS W Rancho Cucamonga
This quip certainly inspired Basic Apple Guy, who used the image-generating AI Midjourney and the Sketch app to illustrate what a macOS Rancho Cucamonga could look like. And here is the result:

How to get one of these macOS “Rancho Cucamonga” wallpapers
Go tothis link for the Day versionorthis link for the Night version and the special Dynamic version macOSin Safari, then open the wallpaper that interests you “Tree”, with tree, “w/o Tree”, without tree, and iPad, MacBook Pro 16″, 6K or iPhone version.
On iPhone and iPad
- Long press on the chosen wallpaper, then choose“Save to Photos”in the action list
- Go to the Photos app and on the wallpaper, tap the icon"Share"before finally choosing“Use as wallpaper”
From a Mac
Method 1:
- In Safari, on the image opened in a new tab, right-click
- Then“Use image as desktop image”
Method 2:
- In Safari, on the image opened in a new tab, doright click > Save image as…and choose the destination orSave image to “Downloads”
- Open your Mac's settings, section“Wallpaper”under macOS Ventura or“Desktop and screen saver”under an older version of macOS
