Twitter didn't do it, but Elon Musk did

August 9, 2024,Elon Musk's social network,, was entitled to a new functionality. It concerns the organization of Tweets, which has always been a little chaotic, especially when it comes to “threads”. This term refers, as a reminder, to a series of tweets published by the user to tell a long story or detail a specific subject.

Indeed, on X, and this was already the case when the network was called Twitter, you cannot exceed 280 characters per response. We are talking here about characters and not words, which, ultimately, limits the possibilities of argumentation in a single response. However, it is possible to go beyond this limitby purchasing a premium subscription, otherwise, you have to make threads.

Twitter is better organized!

Since Friday August 9, a new feature has appeared on X. It is a basic feature that everyone knows, which is to be able to sort responses according to certain criteria. Here, you can choose to prioritize displaying either the most relevant, most liked, or most recent responses. Concerning the most relevant,It isthe algorithm of X which decidesof what a relevant response is.

The most relevant items will likely be based on who pays the most for X/Twitter, while the newest and most liked items are pretty self-explanatory.

rolling out now: sort replies on any post by most relevant, recent, or likedpic.twitter.com/bBjaRliUxZ

It's good to note that the sorting method you choose is not saved. Each time you click on an answer you must sort it again.
