Smartphone display via CarPlay and Android Auto increasingly integrated into marketed vehicles

Lately,
a
survey signed Strategy Analyticsshowed particular interest in
drivers for Android Auto and CarPlay in-vehicle system solutions
from Apple, and above all agrowing attraction for the latter.
And to respond to this trend, manufacturers are increasingly
inclined to proposeone of these two solutions to buyers of new
vehicles.

According to data provided byCanalys, on the first
quarter of the year 2018,more than half of the new
vehiclessold in the United States were offered with Android Auto or
CarPlay to the buyer:

In Europe, the percentage is slightly lower with 46% of new
vehicles which offered from January to March 2018, one and/or the other of
solutions from Google or Apple as an embedded system.

At the same time, more and more manufacturers are getting up to speed by
material, many of them also leave the user the choice between
the solution of the Mountain View giant and that of the Californian firm. He
you should in fact know that while in the United States,56% of owners
smartphone have an Android, in Europe, this figure rises to78
%. However, some manufacturers persist in offering only one
of the two solutions, this is the case of BMW.

BMW vehicle buyers can currently only benefit from CarPlay
in case they would like to have an on-board “infotainment” system.
Moreover, the German giant attracted wrath this year by announcing
want to offer CarPlay inpaid subscription in their
vehicle.

Still, the Andoid Auto and CarPlay systems are gradually gaining
small part of the field both on the consumer side and on the side of
builders. More suitable for hands-free use and therefore much
safer than using an iPhone fixed to the dashboard, these solutions remain
restricted in terms of compatible apps.
