The news broke yesterday in the
evening and it was Mark Zuckerberg who announced it in person, the giant
social networks, Facebook, bought the successful iPhone application
Instagram.
Facebook will have had to release the modest sum ofa billion dollars
to offer yourself
Instagram. The nine people currently working for
Instagram will soon be included in the workforce of
Facebook.
With this acquisition, how to envisage Instagram in the future??
Here is a start to the answer:
Above all, Facebook does not intend to eat up Instagram and do so
disappear. The application should continue to exist in its current form
currentand it will always be possible to browse the photos of
thousands of strangers as is currently the case. Despite everything, Facebook
should take some Instagram and review its sharing system
photos.
In short, the two teams will work together to propose
users the best of both platforms.
But why did Facebook need to spend so much to buy
Instagram??
The GigaOM site puts forward an interesting point of view on the subject. According to them,
and I quite agree, the Facebook application is not up to par in terms of
concerns photo sharing. Additionally, Instagram and Facebook, although
two play the social network card, are two good entities
different.
Facebook represents THE social network,it's the most
used, but Facebook is onlyan exchange platform. On
use Facebook because everyone is on it. Personally I don't like
especially Facebook, but I still have a page.
When it comes to Instagram, the situation is different. Instagram succeeded there
where Facebook hasn't gone.People who use Instagram
love the service.Instagram is much more than just a photo app.
Users like to share their photos and it is true that Instagram is a
sort of giant album in which we can consult, when the desire takes us,
photos from all over the world. Some even spend hours there.
In summary, Instagram has a soul, Facebook is a
tool.
For your part, how do you see this merger of the two companies?
close, but so different?
