We had
already spokenof
SFR projectwhich aims toautomatically switch the
smartphones from a 3G connection to a Wifi connection, when a network is available
scope.
Still in the project stage at SFR,Free has just announced the
availability of a similar servicewhich will therefore allow subscribers
to save on 3G data:
No manipulation is necessary on the phone
since the authentication will be done by the SIM card. When a Free hotspot
will be within range (FreeWIFI secure), all data connections for surfing,
emails, streaming will not be over 3G but over wifi.
As a result, the flowshould be better(especially in
interior) and theconnection will not be deducted from the 3GB of fair use
the subscriber.
