Giulio Zompetti, who is not at his first attempt, has just published never-before-seen images of the AirPods. These reveal a semi-transparent design, where it is possible to see the components integrated into the stem of the headphones. The top of the devices, which is placed in the pavilion, remains white, as on the original version released in 2016 and reissued almost three years later.
In reality, this would be a real prototype made by Apple but which ultimately did not see the light of day. Rather than being marketed, the concept would have been tested internally only and discreetly as Cupertino is accustomed to. This is not the first time that the brand has imagined a solution of this type for its references, as proventhis other transparent iMac G3 prototype.

New colors in 2021
Unfortunately, no transparent pair of AirPods is therefore available to the general public. The latest edition, which arrived just a few weeks ago, however, was treated to a whole collection of additional shades. We do not owe them to Apple, but to a third party company, namelyColorWare, which offers, for example, yellow or green AirPods 3 for around 275 euros.
Rumors have mentioned the case of Apple headphones natively available in colors other than white, but nothing has come to support these comments. Perhaps for the fourth generation or for the AirPods Pro, also highly anticipated? Who knows.
Accessories for Mac too?
Zompetti's latest find shared recently concerns a charger with a power of twenty-nine watts, with what appears to be a USB-C socket on one side. Here too, the prototype is transparent and probably should never have left Apple's laboratories in California.

A twenty-nine watt adapter has been sold in the past; it made it possible to power the “classic” MacBook with a twelve-inch screen. But the laptop having been withdrawn from the shelves in 2018, the same will happen for its power supply, leaving room for the thirty-watt one which is still possible to buy at the moment.
