During the back-to-school keynote, Apple unveiled an iPhone 7 without a headphone jack,
as well as AirPods, new Bluetooth headphones designed to pair
automatically with Apple devices, the latter should come out late
October, but that was not the case.
A report published yesterday which originates from a production line in China
suggests that AirPods would not be available until January 2017,
However, the American site AppleInsider affirms according to sources close to the
folder that AirPods arestill planned for a launch before
Noël, a critical period for any new product.
A source who was briefed internally on AirPods claims that "it's
inconceivable that AirPods will be pushed back to January of the year
next".
Additionally, according to several AppleInsider contacts who work in various
Apple Store,demonstration units are already available
in quite a few stores, and many employees have been trained on the
AirPods.
They are just waiting for the green light from management to start showing them
to potential customers who come to Apple Stores.
As a reminder, AirPods are wireless headphones that stand out from
competition thanks to a bluetooth chip (W1) designed by Apple, which allows
automatic pairing of headphones with all devices using the same
iCloud account.
This chip has started to appear in new products from the brand
Beats owned by Apple.
