The Display Studio has just received a new version of its software dedicated tofix a bug on the sound side. Some users have in fact complained, in recent days, of speakers being rendered temporarily inoperable. Apple has since confirmed the problem, ensuring that its origin was software and adding that the quality of the stream or the rapid playback of videos were also impacted.
To remedy this, Cupertino therefore began to deploy theversion 15.5of the operating system intended for Studio Display. Numbered 19F80, this requires macOS Monterey 12.4 on the Mac associated with the screen, which can be connected with a Thunderbolt 4 cable thanks to the four USB-C ports located on the back of the device.
How is the update going?
First of all,check which versionof the OS for Studio Display is installed on your monitor:
- go to the Apple menu
- click onAbout this Mac
- click onSystem report
- click onVideo cards/monitors
The OS version of your Studio Display is then displayed next to the mentionDisplay Firmware Version (Screen firmware version), in the sectionStudio Displayfrom the window.
Then, from your Mac, here is the procedure to follow:
- go to the Apple menu
- click onSystem Preferences
- click onSoftware update
- click onTo update
- When the update is ready, you will be offered toRestart: do this without unplugging theStudio Display
Already several incidents for Studio Display
Although the Studio Display has been critically acclaimed since its release in stores, this does not mean that using the screen has proven to be easy for its first buyers. Indeed,many have already reported a camera whose image quality is questionable. Here too, Apple tried to calm things down with a corrective update.
With this,updates got stuck last April. But this would not prevent the manufacturer from preparing a second version of the monitor for us, this time with a more imposing diagonal of perhaps27 inchesrecalling the supposed abandonment of the big iMac…
