Here,we
let's preventthat the source code of the iOS 9 or iBoot bootloader used to
the initialization of the iPhone and iPad had been leaked on the web with
as the point of origin the Github site. But we were not yet sure of the
legitimacy of the code in question.
Well,Apple just confirmed the code leakto the site
American MacRumors, butreassures usersas for the
dangerousness of it, because it is an old version of iOS. Furthermore, the
Cupertino company mentions that there areprotections already in place
placein products.
Specifically, here's Apple's statement to MacRumors: "this
old 3 year old source code seems to have been leaked, but by design,
the security of our products does not depend on the confidentiality of our code
source. There are many layers of hardware and software protections
integrated into our products and we always encourage customers to put them
up to date with the most recent software versions to benefit from the
last protections."
At the same time, the Cupertino company also sent a notice of withdrawal of the
source code to the Github platform, site on which a mystery user has
shared this incomplete source code of the iOS 9 bootloader.
According to the latest figures published by Apple concerning the rate
adoption of the latest versions of iOS, iOS 11 is installed on 65% of
compatible machines, iOS 10 is still present on 28% of devices, and
7% remainingare on older versions like iOS 9.
Do you still have devices that are running iOS 9?
