While trying to order a MacBook Pro this morning, we had to face a damning observationthe devices announced last Monday: impossible to receive them for several weeks. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with 8-core CPU, 14-core GPU, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD requires nearly a month to be delivered to buyers.
Same observation for the version with sixteen-core graphics card and 1 TB of storage. As for the 16-inch MacBook Pro, it's worse: in fact, with our French address, Apple asks you to wait four to six weeks depending on the configuration chosen. Potentially, the unluckiest could therefore receive their new laptop just before the end of year holidays. Even though it is supposed to be released tomorrow.
How to avoid delays?
To avoid delays, it is perhaps more judicious to go through specialized resellers. There are many of them in France: Boulanger, Darty, FNAC, Amazon, Rakuten and even CDiscount are there. What's more, some people offer discounts precisely on the occasion of the launch of new machines.
The strategy implemented by these stores seems generally more effective than that of Apple, who would continue to suffer shortages. In general, stores place orders under embargo even before the products are officially available. They also benefit from wholesale prices that are often more attractive, hence the promotions.
