If you read us regularly, you are aware that Apple
couldswitch from a 30-pin connector to a sync socket
smaller with only 19 pinsfor thenext iPhone.
To read:Apple is thinking of one
new connector for iPhone.
Obviously, this poses abig concern for station owners
musical devices incorporating the traditional iPhone and iPod connector, even
if an adapter could be offered.
Another solution, rather ingenious, comes to us once again from a
project
Kickstarterwith thePear, a very small accessory that
adds Bluetooth functionto your music dock:
If you're wondering how you'll still be able to use your dock
musical if Apple changes its connector, the Pear could well give you a
great service, and at a low price.
In fact, thePearis amodule Bluetooth
2.1which plugs (and powers) into the station connector
musical. Then, all you have to do is activate the connection on your
iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad.
So you can transmit your music from iPhone, iPod or
the iPad up to a range ofabout 10 metersin stereo.
The module is powered by the dock and, a little nod to Apple, includes a
small pear-shaped logo. It will be available in two colors:
BlancetNoir.
A short presentation video:
ThePearis already enjoying great success since the
Kickstarter project is already largely funded($66,000 for a threshold of
$40,000) but you can still pre-order yours at the lower price
reasonable to$40 (plus $15 shipping)or approximately
45€.
The first deliveries are scheduled for November, a little after the
exit fromnext iPhone.
What do you think? Could this solution interest you if
Apple changed the dock connector?
