Analysts: Apple would have sold 3 million AirPods (and Pro) during Black Friday

The AirPods and AirPods Pro are the most popular wireless headphones in the category, they already sell very well outside of the promotional period, but with Black Friday and the various promotions in particular on the AirPods 2, the wireless headphones of 'Apple would have been a hit.

Indeed, according to analyst Dan Ives of the Wedbush firm, it was estimated that Apple would have sold around 3 million AirPods and AirPods Pro during the Black Friday weekend.

To do this, he questioned the distribution channels and noted stock shortages at many merchants.

Webush says there is an increase in demand for AirPods and AirPods Pro, particularly as the Christmas holidays approach. Apple currently offers two models, the 2nd generation AirPods at €179 and the AirPods Pro at €279.

The new model offers several additional features requested and expected by users, such as active noise reduction, water and sweat resistance.

Demand is so high for AirPods Pro that last week Apple reportedly asked its suppliers to work harder to minimize stock shortages during the end-of-year holidays.

In 2019, analysts estimate that Apple could sell more than 60 million AirPods, and in 2020 this figure could rise to 85-90 million units.
