When going on vacation, the road can be long, especially if you live far from the sea and the entire country has to be crossed from north to south or east to west. So, to find something to entertain passengers, but also to simplify the driver's life, don't hesitate to consultour special apps file for the holiday route, here. And, as part of our summer series“Holidays in apps” can be found here, here is another app to take with you. To make the trip more interesting, a team of French developers createdWaynote. It is a companion app for the road, or rather the highway, which automatically delivers, at certain moments of the journey, written or oral information on the places and landscapes crossed.
Enough to break the monotony, improve your culture and learn more about these many regions which see vacationers pass through every summer.
Waynote ? Why not !
Waynote is only compatible with certain roads in France, including the most important motorways such as the A7, the A8 or the A1 and the A2. New axes are added regularly by developers, as indicated in Waynote's App Store page.

The idea of the app is, during a route taken by car and passing on one of these roads covered by Waynote, to offerspoken information, like an audio guide in a museum, at certain key moments of the trip.

Short messages will in fact be launched automatically when approaching a point of interest, perhaps a particular landscape, a historic site, an important monument, etc.
The app also providesautomatically triggered suggestionswhen approaching a motorway exit, to have recommendations during a break, for a restaurant for example. Moreover, everyone can freely send their comments to Waynote, in order to add information on a place bordering a particular highway in France and participate in increasing the app's database.
In any case, it is ainteresting conceptproposed here allowing you to see the road journey differently.
You canfind here all our articles in the “Holidays in apps” seriesetour file dedicated to the holiday route here.
Have a good trip and happy holidays everyone! Do you have any app suggestions for this section? Comments are open to you.
