When leaving in
vacation, no matter the destination, there is always this reflex to want
check the weather at the resort. But while the forecasts
television or in apps, notably
those seen in this file, can actually give some clues
on the situation on site, nothing better than seeing images filmed in
direct from the destination. And precisely,many webcams
are inopen accessacross the world, via websites
dedicated, filming city centers, highways, beaches, but also
ski resorts. It is even possible tofind all these webcams

LandWebcams.
An app that joins the club of those described in the context of
our summer series “Vacation
in apps”, to follow here.
LandWebcams lists 30,000 webcams around the world, including 2,000 in
France, supplied bywebcams.travels. The editor even adds
that new webcams join the app every day.
These webcams are geolocated, it is then possible to have an overview of their
position on a world map, zooming into the surroundings of its own
position, or elsewhere.
This is obviously very practical in several cases:
- check the traffic situation at a given location on a highway
- know the weather and the weather on the beach next to which a rented
holiday apartment - also practical for skiing, to get an overview of the weather at the top of the
tracks - finally, some will appreciate being able to travel to the four corners of the world
by following these webcams in real time
Low definition requires, it is obviously not a question of high video monitoring
quality, but rather photographs taken at regular intervals of
several minutes. All the same, the app can be very useful, especially
that it offers the possibility of viewing a summary of the last 24 hours
for each webcam.
It is in any case very well done, integrating different functionalities
well thought out, including favorites to note the webcams to follow, filters
to focus only on certain places, without forgetting the section
“Selection” which displays the latest webcams added or the most
popular, among others.
The app is priced at €3.49, an in-app purchase of €2.29 allows
to unlock weather information for each camera, what remains
