Privacy and data security is one of the main issues for Apple in recent times. But now a legal action wants to tarnish this reputation as a knight of private life.
Three American users have filed a class action lawsuit, andaccuse Apple of sharing iTunes and Apple Music music listening habitswith third-party companies.
According to this lawsuit, Apple allegedlysold music listening habitsiTunes and Apple Music users,to external companies.
According to these three users, the data shared by Apple would be the full name, address, and in some cases, the types of music, as well as the titles of songs purchased by users on iTunes.
They claim that this data is then used by telemarketing companies to target certain user profiles.
This new legal action against Apple demands $250 to $5,000 for each affected user living in the states of Rhode Island and Michigan in the United States.
We will have to wait for the official response from Apple, the latter having always stated that it never shares our data.
