Apple Arcade: the service in the testing phase and first images

A few months ago, Apple unveiled several new services that will arrive this fall, including Apple Arcade. It is an unlimited video game service on iOS, Mac and Apple TV. For a monthly subscription, it offers unlimited access to more than 100 new mobile games.

The particularity of the games offered on Apple Arcade is that they do not yet exist on the App Store. Apple Arcade will only offer new and exclusive games. This new gaming service is currently being tested with Apple employees, and the American site 9to5mac was able to have access to this beta.

9to5mac had access to this internal Apple Arcade testing program for the Mac App Store. For a subscription of $0.49 per month, with a one-month free trial, it allows you to test Apple Arcade on the Mac.

Note that the amount of $0.49 is temporary and only for the testing phase, the subscription price will be higher, but we do not know exactly how much. This test program indicates that it will end with the public release of iOS 13 next month.

After subscribing, players are greeted with a new page that highlights certain titles available with Apple Arcade. To download a game, as with other free apps from the App Store, simply press the “Get” button.

On the game page, we can see images of the game and various information about the title in question. For example, game category, recommended age, controller support, game size and other info.

When the service becomes available next month, it should offer unlimited access to more than 100 new and exclusive mobile games. Exclusivity does not mean that they are only available on iOS, but rather that to play them on iOS, you will have to have a subscription to Apple Arcade.

The development of certain games is partially financed by Apple. The Cupertino company plans to continue supporting small and medium-sized studios in different ways, in order to produce titles for its Apple Arcade offering.
