Apple prepares its arrival in North Carolina

Last April, Apple announced that it wanted toan investment of 430 billion dollars over the next five yearsto create more than 20,000 new jobs. Among the main points of this project, the Cupertino firm plans to build several engineering and research centers throughout the United States, including one in North Carolina. Apple plans to invest up to a billion dollars there, and plans to hire 3,000 people.

The Cupertino firm should in fact recover one of the three buildings in the complex, while the insurance company should concentrate its activities in the two oldest. This seven-story building should be“fully occupied in the near future”according to Apple's project architecture documents.

The plans were submitted to the relevant city agencies at the end of June, and were approved at the beginning of July. Initial work should focus on the first three floors of the building, and would cost the Apple the sum of $5.5 million.

A 100% Apple campus under construction

At the same time, Apple plans to build its own campus in the« Research Triangle Park »neighbor. According to information from MacRumors, this new site should take years to emerge. If the land already belongs to Apple - which acquired it in 2018 - work has not yet started, and the neighboring city of Raleigh, capital of the state of North Carolina does not yet seem to have validated the plans for construction of the Apple.
