Since its launch at the beginning of July,Threads, the alternative social network to Twitter, literally panics the meters. There are now more than 100 million registered users, which far exceeds all other comparable platform launches.
The Cupertino company has not remained inactive since last week. Thus, Apple News has joined the social media, just like Apple Books, Apple Music, Shazam, and Beats by Dre. For his part, Phil Schiller, senior vice president of marketing for the Apple brand, also opened an account.
Threads is not yet available in France
The latter had distinguished himself in the past for his departure from Instagram following changes made to the iOS application which removed certain filters in order to adapt to the Android app.
As reported by our colleagues from 9to5mac, it's a safe bet that the Tech giant's other accounts will join Threads soon. We are thinking in particular of Apple, Apple TV and Apple Fitness+ which are already well placed on Instagram.
Remember that the social network is still not available in Europe and therefore in France. Indeed, Meta is faced with recently applied legislation for digital markets. The web giant must act with caution, especially with regard to data sharing between Instagram and this new rival of Twitter. However, as we saw above, the two services will be partly linked.
Like Twitter, Threads is an application based primarily on the text format. The first feedback is very positive and suggests a refined presentation which would already overshadow Elon Musk's platform. If you want to test the application before its release, you can find the instructions from our colleagues atLemon squeezer.
