It's done. Apple has just presented itsnew iPad Pro with OLED panelon the occasion of the keynote on Tuesday May 7. This new panel system does away with backlighting and offers even better contrasts than the mini-LED of the models released in 2021 ormore recently. Energy consumption should be reduced at the same time.

An impressive M4 chip
Moreover, know that we are still entitled to two different sizes of large touch screens, here, with on the one hand 11 inches and on the other hand 13 inches on the counter. The largest version is obviously the most expensive, however the performance is apparently identical on paper – with equivalent configuration.
In terms of performance, this device inherits a brand new Apple Silicon chip, the M4. This is an evolution of the current M3 chips which allow 50% higher performance, all with the first 10-core GPU with Ray Tracing (performance multiplied by 4).
On the photo side, there is also a nice development with both a new 12 Mp professional lens and a LiDAE sensor – all with an improved adaptive flash which notably allows documents to be scanned faster and more faithfully.
For now, this new device runs on the iPadOS 17 operating system. However, we know that during the Worldwide Developer Conference, Apple could announce the following version. And this should logically also be compatible with the new iPad Pro OLED.

Other specific features of the iPad Pro OLED
Please note that these new iPad Pros only offer two colors: gray and black. Let us add that the design has been somewhat revisited given that the chassis is now thinner than that of the iPad Pro with M2 chip. This also results in a lighter mass, which makes the tablets even more portable and easily transformable into ultraportable computers with a dedicated Magic Keyboard. The M4 iPad Pros are of course charged with USB-C technology, with Apple providing a dedicated cable in the box.
Release date and pre-order date
The new iPad Pro M4s are already available for pre-order. Here are the prices offered by Apple for the occasion:
- Prices for 11-inch version: €719 (128 GB) / €849 (256 GB) / €1,099 (512 GB) / €1,349 (1 TB). Add €170 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
- Prices for 13-inch version: €969 (128 GB) / €1,099 (256 GB) / €1,349 (512 GB) / €1,599 (1 TB). Add €170 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
Deliveries to the first customers are expected on Wednesday May 15, 2024.
