Apple had said it, there would indeed be another keynote this evening, Tuesday November 10. BaptizedOne More Thing, the brand's conference at Apple suggests that the manufacturer will focus on computers this evening. This is indeed the case – of the month for the moment, since the company is revealing it on the first M1 chip.
For now, the American company is presenting new features in line with previous rumors. We knew that the Apple brand was planning an ARM Mac model, because it had mentioned the project in a keynote last June. This is part of a fairly logical change for Apple, which can now move a little further away from Intel to take control of the hardware.
What do you need to know about the Apple M1 chip?
Soberly called Apple M1, this new product is the first ARM chip dedicated to Macs. The manufacturer has set the bar high, so much so that the SoC unveiled this evening embeds the GPU and the CPU (with eight cores) as well as other components, all while being engraved in 5 nm. It is the same size as the A14 Bionic, the SoC equipped with the latest iPhone 12 presented during the previous keynote.

Generally speaking, Apple claims that this new chip will allow the Mac to be faster than those equipped with an Intel chip as was the case until now. It should allow laptops to gain in efficiency and speed, all while promising significant energy savings compared to its predecessor from Intel. Moreover, it would simply benefit from the best performance per watt on the market.
Finally, Apple adds that the Apple M1 chip is Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 compatible.
