When the Apple Watch launched in 2015,
Apple had relied heavily on the fashion aspect to promote its watch
connected, and had now opened
special Apple Watch storesin fashion temples in Paris
(Galeries Lafayette), London and Tokyo.
After the closure of the Apple Watch stores in Paris and London, it is
turn of thedernier "pop-up store"located in Shinjuku in Tokyo in
Japan fromclose its doors on May 13according to a
message displayed in front of the store.
Apple has left the world of in-store luxury, which reflects the company's strategy.
Californian giant, which notably removed the Gold Edition model from its range
which could cost more than 11,000 euros, replacing it with an Edition model
with ceramic case currently priced at 1,399 euros.
Apple has since reviewed its approach and carried out arefocusing on
the aspect of sports and health monitoringof the connected watch, and this
seems to be bearing fruit because Tim Cook indicated during the
latest quarterly resultsof Apple that sales and revenues have
increased by 50% for the fourth consecutive quarter.
Another reason for the closure of this latest special Apple “pop-up store”
Watch is the opening last month of alarge Apple Store in
Shinjukuwhich is located on the same street opposite the “pop-up store”.
The sporty and health aspect of the Apple Watch is the one that seems to hit the mark
among users, and Apple continues to emphasize this with
several new functionalized asGymKit.
This new feature in watchOS 4 allows the Apple Watch to
communicate
with sports equipmentand vice versa, to exchange data
collected in the Watch Exercises app.
Apple also continues to work on the health aspect of the watch, and
particularly on asecret project
initiated by Steve Jobs, which would allow diabetics to measure their
blood sugar or the concentration of glucose in the blood using anouveau
type of sensor in Apple Watch.
