Apple Music Classical comes to Android (but not to Mac and iPad)

Apple Music Classical, the streaming service dedicated to classical music, is coming to Android. This is of course good news for interested Internet users. As for users of macOS, iPadOS, tvOS and CarPlay, they will have to wait for a possible launch in the months or years to come.

A logical deployment

Moreover, this arrival on Android is clearly justified. Indeed Apple Music Classical followsl’application Primephonicbought by Apple. The latter was both available on the App Store and the Play Store. As the Cupertino company withdrew the Android app following this transaction, it is entirely normal that it offers a replacement offer for these devices.

Let us also remember that Apple Music Classical has been launched on the App Store since last March. It is available to Apple Music and Apple One subscribers and offers ad-free classical music tracks with excellent sound quality. So thousands of recordings that support spatial audio are available.

Note also that the very genre of classical music poses the delicate question ofartist remuneration. Indeed, there are significant differences in duration on the pieces which range from a few tens of seconds to more than an hour.

To resolve this problem, Apple has decided to take the same approach as Primephonic: the app does not pay authors for listening time but it is the listening itself which is taken into account for payment.
