Good news for Apple Music users. The platform adds even more songs to its already extensive catalog. By signing an agreement with the Tencent Music Entertainment group, the music of many Chinese artists will be accessible all over the world on Apple's music streaming platform.
Musical discoveries at your fingertips
With this agreement, Apple Music not only enriches its catalog but also, at the same time, the musical culture of its users.
Indeed, labels and artists part of Tencent Music Entertainment's Music Cloud program can now distribute their music around the world thanks to Apple Music. This program highlights independent musicians by allowing them to distribute their music massively, attract fans or even organize virtual concerts.
Music lovers will be able to explore and discover Chinese culture and musical genres. This agreement will therefore enable the international development of Chinese musicians.
Thus, thanks to this agreement between Apple Music and Tencent Music Entertainment, users of the Cupertino company's music streaming platform will be able to listen to even more songs in Dolby Atmos, Spatial Audio and Lossless. And for those who want to be tempted byVoice Plan, they will be able to enjoy these new songs straight from China with the new low-cost subscription from Apple Music.
For the moment, however, the ins and outs of the agreement between the two companies remain quite unclear. TME speaks of hundreds of thousands of Chinese musicians who realize their musical dreams through its platform, without specifying the number.
This is not the first time that Apple has entered into an agreement with another company to enrich its music catalog. Last August, the company announcedits acquisition of Primephonic, a streaming service specializing in classical music.
